Kentucky Equine Education Program
Breeders Incentive Fund
The KEEPs Program was designed to promote horses in Kentucky, using money from various state sources, a fund has been set up to reward those owners who promote the horse in the state of Kentucky.
Points are earned by showing at affiliated shows in the State of Kentucky. Shows need to be affiliated with KWHA and have a DQP present (ie - you can't have a show in your back yard and use it for points) Funds will be awarded at the end of each year to those owners who have horses nominated in the program.... in other words - your horses earn money for you!!
For more information, downloadable nomination and point forms, please visit the KWHBIF website at www.kwhbif.com
How to Earn Points:
Horses will earn 1 (one) point when participating in a halter class, or 2 (two) points by participating in a class under saddle at a qualified show in Kentucky, no more than one point (halter)/ two points (saddle class) may be earned in 24 hours (so entering 10 classes at a 1 day show does not earn 10 points)
1 or 2 points are awarded for each show, regardless of award earned (ie - you don't even have to get a ribbon!)
Multiple points may be earned by showing multiple times, as long as it is not within a 24 hour period (ie- if at a multiday show- a point can be earned each day)
Double points are earned for a horse winning a World Championship at the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration in Shelbyville, TN.
Double points are earned for participation in Kentucky Celebration, regardless of award earned.
