 Horses For Sale

At Stonewall Acres, we offer a quality selection of pleasure riding and show horses for sale at all times.  Please check back often as we add and change this page as horses sell or become available for purchase.

Our Pleasure horses are professionally started and trained both on the ground and under saddle to be reliable and sensible out on the trails.  Our horses are started off right, we won't tolerate any biting, kicking, or bad manners.  They learn to clip, tie, lead, bathe, and load into the trailer.  Then we spend the time in the saddle working them in as many situations as possible - riding alone as well as with others, crossing water, getting accustomed to traffic, jumping logs, traversing steep and slippery terrain, and  experiencing different game species.  Their gaits are fine tuned to make them smooth, easy to ride, and enjoyable.

What sets Stonewall Acres apart from other farms? We offer well bred, well trained horses almost all of which we have bred and/or raised.  We know their complete history, know where they have been, and can attest to their health and care.   Our horses are sound and healthy, and we welcome prospective buyers to obtain a pre-purchase exam if they so desire.  Stonewall Acres isn't a resale farm, buying cheap and selling to unsuspecting buyers.  Stonewall Acres values good customers who are looking to give our horses a permanent home.  We price our horses fairly, based on their quality, pedigree, and experience, and will offer a discount on multiple horse purchases.

Do you need horse transportation? Please visit our Equine Transportation page for a list of reputable professional shippers.

To contact us regarding one of these fine horses please call (270)792-6674 anytime.

To view some of the horses we have sold, please visit our Stonewall Graduates page!  If you see something there you like, often we have another comparable horse available, just let us know.

**** VIDEOS:  Videos will be added/updated as we are able to make them - Due to the fact that we are still on dial up internet, we have some difficulty up/downloading video, it can get a little grainy at times.  We have found that if you minimize the video box (small screen) it seems to help the clarity.  The video clips on this page should give you an idea about the horses, but if you would like to request a DVD, we'll be happy to mail one to you.   The DVD's have complete clarity, just like normal television (because we don't have to send over internet lines).

We Thank each and every person who took the time to inquire about, come look at, and/or purchase one of our fine horses.  We value your business and are happy to know that you will provide our "kids" with wonderful homes where they will be loved and appreciated!  Thanks so much!!!!!

Geldings:

Delight's Smokin' Dude                                   PEDIGREE

"Smoke" is a handsome 15.1h black gelding,  13 years old, with a gorgeous old timey conformation, and really sets up in the bridle.  Smoke spent his younger years as a show horse, garnering many ribbons and high point awards in Kentucky.  He has a great smooth gait keg shod or barefoot, and can walk and shake at a flat walk or really step it up into a faster racking trail gait.   He looks through the bridle and will really get you noticed!   Smoke is super fun to ride with a good motor for those long trail rides, but very easy to ride on just a light rein.  He would be suitable for an advanced beginner or better rider, as he isn't a dead head.  Smoke will cross creeks, rough terrain, handle wildlife, dogs, traffic, and anything else that has come his way. He rides out alone or with others and will go first, ride side by side,  or follow behind, he doesn't seem to care.  This is a super nice horse for trail or show.   $2000

Game Master

Game Master is a 15.2h, sorrel, 4 year old gelding with a blaze, blonde tail and mixed mane.  He is very eye catching with an upheaded, proud way of going and knee-snapping walk.  He can move out with some speed and really get those knees up.  Game Master is  sane & sensible but has enough motor to carry any rider many hours in the saddle. He is big and solid enough for a large man but he right size to be able to make it easy to mount & dismount.  He has excellent ground manners, clips, bathes, stands quietly in the crossties for grooming & tacking, etc.    This would be an ideal horse for field trials as he'd definitely get you noticed but have the stamina to keep up with the dogs all day.  He is sane & sensible in handling trail situations like traffic, wild game, dogs, steep terrain, water, etc.  Game Master is best suited for an advanced beginner or better rider.  He is offered at $2000.

Portrait of Fine Art  SOLD!!!

Portrait of Fine Art,  aka "Camel", is a true 16.3h, black, 5 year old gelding.   He has been a top performance show horse for us during his 2 & 3 year old years, and spent over 3 years in professional training.  We chose to "retire" him to the trails this year as we are selling the farm and dispersing of our horses.  Camel is HUGE - if you need a big horse - at 16.3h (measured with a level stick) I doubt you'll find one bigger!  But he is a gentle giant.  Camel has been trail riding this spring & summer nad has proven himself bombproof out on the trails.  We have encountered just about every situation and he has never made a false move, and rides with the smoothest consistent gait for as long as you want.  Camel has been exposed to road riding with cars, trucks, morotcycles, and farm equipment.  We have seen game species such as deer & turkey, and have crossed belly deep, rushing creeks , navigated steep hills and rough terrain both in the woods and out in the open.  We have ridden out alone and in small and large groups, as well as with wagon teams and mules.  He could absolutely care less if the other horses run off and leave him, he just stays at the same walkin', head shakin' gait and travels on.  You can ride in the front, back, middle, side by side... who cares - he doesn't!   And if that doesn't suit you - put him back in the show ring!  He walks with a true 4-beat, naturally deep going, head shakin', ear flappin' walk.   Ideal for Country/Trail Pleasure or even Lite Shod.   Or you could pad him back up and show him in Performance classes.   Camel is just a complete gem, and a very special once in a lifetime find.... everyone who every deals with him has a special place for him in their heart.   We reluctantly offer this special guy for sale   SOLD!! Camel has been SOLD and is going to live in the Peach state of Georgia!  Congratulations Steve - Thank You!!

.... You can always geld a nice stallion!  A good stallion makes a great gelding!!!  Please see our stallions listed above.

We will happily schedule to have a horse gelded once he has been purchased (gelding at the new owners expense), and provide after care (free of charge) until he is healed and ready to go home.

The Pusher's Misfit aka Mistress, is a 16hh, dapple grey, 4 year old mare. She is easy to ride and handle in all respects. She is easily caught in the pastures and is an easy keeper. Take a look at her photo! She is this healthy from eating strictly grass in our pasture! Mistress is good with all the other horses in the field and stalls easily too. She stands perfectly still in the crossties while getting her ready for a ride. She is ridden with a wonder bit and has a nice easy soft mouth. Mistress single reins. She is primarily ridden on the trails and is not afraid of anything. Ride her over creeks, down the highway, through a cow pasture, over logs, around dogs, turkey, deer, in a group or alone and she will take perfect care of you! This mare can stomp a hole in the ground and really walk and shake! She has a long striding, deep backend, four beat walking horse gait and moves along down the trails. She can leave the line of horses on a trail and not even notice. This mare is brave and confident all by herself. She carries her head held high in the bridle and looks like she knows how beautiful she is. She has got a thick, dark mane down to her elbow and a thick tail that drags the ground. Bring her in from a ride and give her a bath or trim her and she will stand calmly. This mare is one in a million. You don't see many dark, dapple greys like this around everywhere. Especially with a confirmation as perfect as hers! This mare will make someone a great broodmare also. Check out her bloodlines.
